What data we process

When you sign in, your e-mail address is stored; if you sign in through a third-party sign-in provider, the name, e-mail address and profile picture URL passed on by that provider are stored as well. Linked to your account we keep the step lists you follow, the steps you complete and the notes you add to steps. When a page that is not yet available is opened, an anonymous request (profession, country, state and language) is recorded without any link to an account. When you use the site without signing in, technical request logs (IP address, time, requested page) are kept for a limited period to serve the site and keep it secure. If you ask to be notified about a situation that is not ready yet, your e-mail address and the chosen profession, country and state are stored, solely to write to you once when those steps are published.

Legal basis (Rechtsgrundlage)

Your account and progress data are processed to provide the account and progress-tracking service you requested (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Technical request logs rest on our legitimate interest in the secure and uninterrupted operation of the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Creating an account is optional; no account is needed to read the site. No automated decision-making or profiling takes place. Notification requests rest on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR); you can withdraw it by writing to support@anerkennbar.com and the address is deleted.

Recipients and processors (Empfänger, Auftragsverarbeiter)

Your data is not sold and not shared for advertising. We use contractually bound service providers that process data only on our behalf and on our instructions (processors): – Hosting service: serves the site and keeps technical request logs including the IP address. – Database service: operates the database holding account and progress data. – E-mail delivery service: delivers the sign-in code (only your e-mail address and the code). – Third-party sign-in provider: only if this sign-in method is offered and you choose it. Some of these providers may process data outside the EU (e.g. in the USA); in that case the transfer rests on an adequacy decision of the EU Commission or on standard contractual clauses. You can request the current list of providers at support@anerkennbar.com.

Where data is stored

Account and progress data is stored in a database located in a data centre within the European Union.

Retention (Speicherdauer)

Account and progress data is kept until you delete your account. Anonymous requests for situations not yet covered are kept until the corresponding steps are written. Sign-in codes expire after 10 minutes. Technical request logs are kept by the hosting provider for a limited period and then deleted. Notification requests are kept until the notification is sent and deleted afterwards.

Cookies

We use only a first-party session cookie that keeps you signed in. No tracking, advertising or analytics cookies are used.

Deleting your data

You can permanently delete your account and all your data at any time with the "Delete account" button on your account page.

Your rights (Betroffenenrechte)

Under the GDPR you have the right of access to your data (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21). You may object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). To exercise these rights, write to support@anerkennbar.com.

Right to complain (Beschwerderecht)

If you believe the processing of your data is unlawful, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), for example the authority of your place of residence or of the federal state where the operator is based.
